New Hire Checklist

We are excited to have you join Flagler School District, where we strive to provide the highest quality academics, athletics and arts to our students. Here at Flagler, we believe education is the foundation of a successful future for both our students and employees. New hires, please follow the new hire steps below.

Step 1 - Click here to complete fingerprint/background screening form (also included in new hire packet step 4). Fingerprinting/background cost is $50.00. Fingerprinting/background operation hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30am-2:00pm. If you have any questions  please contact Christine Wyatt at ext 1164.

Step 2- Complete drug screening at MediQuick (form is also included in new hire packet step 4). Drug screening Cost is $35.00. Transportation employees should not use this form, contact Transportation at (386) 586-2145 for instructions.

Step 3- Read District Policy & Procedures (Required Reading). Read documents pertaining to the Code of Ethics, Alcohol & Drug-Free Workplace, Family Medical Leave, Sexual Harassment Policy, Employee Access, Johns Eastern (Worker’s Comp), PayCard and Technology Acceptable Use Policy. ALL DOCUMENTS CAN BE FOUND IN THE NEW HIRE PACKETS. If you do not have access to print from your computer, a hard copy of this material is available at the Human Resources office.

Step 4- Print & complete the new hire packet, select the appropriate job classification links below to print the new hire packet. If you do not have access to print from your computer, a hard copy of this material is available at the Human Resources office.

Step 5- Click here to view Benefits. Detailed information will be provided at orientation. Benefit eligible new hires can become familiar with offered health plans and rates.

Step 6- Onboarding orientation is usually held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00am at 1769 East Moody Blvd, Bunnell, FL, Government Services Building, Bldg 2 in the Human Resources Department. Please bring the listed items below with you to orientation: Completed New Hire Packet, Driver’s License (original), Social Security Card (original), Transcripts (if applicable), Certificate(s) (if applicable) and Professional License (if applicable). 

Step 7: In order to be cleared to start work, the following must be completed:
Pass fingerprint/background and drug screening, complete new hire paperwork, make a copy of your driver's license & social security card, please bring two valid references (documentation that minimum job qualifications are met and verification of certification/HQ requirements (if applicable). Attend orientation and once HR has verified employee is cleared to work, the hiring school or department will contact new hire with a start date.
